Hi there! I'm Belinda, a proud Hampton, Virginia native and an alumna of Phoebus High School and the University of South Alabama, where I discovered my love for history and education, earning degrees in both Secondary Education and History. I also hold an M.B.A from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. After spending several years teaching World and AP History at Hampton High, I now enjoy designing an innovative K-2 curriculum for the HCS FLEx Program, our district's virtual school. I love blending technology with history to create fun, role-playing lessons that make learning an adventure—complete with dance parties!
I enjoy cooking, traveling, exploring museums, and diving into the latest tech gadgets when I'm not in the virtual classroom. I share my love for the outdoors and imaginative play with my son, Benjamin, who is a Lego and Minecraft enthusiast. Our two cats, Gracie and Queenie, often join our adventures at home.
One of my greatest joys is collaborating and co-teaching immersive adventure lessons with fellow teachers. I also greatly enjoy planning, organizing, and developing professional development sessions for our FLEx Teachers.
In my free time, I indulge in online shopping, take long walks, and go on roller coaster rides with Benjamin. I enjoy gathering with friends and family for bonfires and S'mores, and I love burning calories with YouTube workout videos.
Looking forward to connecting with you all and sharing my passion for education and technology!
