About me
Diane DeMott Painter, Ph.D. is a retired Fairfax County special education teacher who now teaches part-time at Shenandoah University as a teacher-educator. She volunteers her time at Makersmiths, Inc., a nonprofit maker space in Loudoun County, VA. As Makersmiths' STEM lead, she works with schools and students who want to complete STEM-related projects at Makersmiths. As an example, she has been a Middle School KidWind coach since 2018 and the teams she coached won several KidWind awards in both wind turbine and solar challenges at the Northern Virginia and Virginia State levels.
