JMU’s Center for Sustainable Energy (CASE) promotes the understanding of renewable energy through educational outreach activities. This session will focus on capturing solar energy, converting solar energy into electricity, and inspiring youth to create innovative uses for solar energy through a KidWind Solar Challenge event. Attendees will explore numerous hands-on activities which integrate STEM strategies with leveled reading materials. The KidWind Challenge will also be explored and starter kits will be available for teachers that register to coach a team. Additional raffle prizes will be awarded.
