Dr. Mervin Jenkins (also known as Spectac) is a hip-hop artist who has worked with a Grammy nominated producer and a host of other artists throughout his career in music. Dr. Jenkins' service as an educator has been equally rewarding. He has worked as a middle school teacher, high school assistant principal, middle school principal, and central office administrator. As a school administrator, Dr. Jenkins was recognized as a North Carolina school district Principal of the Year. He is currently the Sr. Manager, Flocabulary Specialist.

In 2014 Dr. Jenkins was invited to the White House to take part in a roundtable discussion for the ‘My Brothers Keeper Initiative’. As a speaker, Dr. Jenkins inspires students, their parents, and educators on the importance of student learning and its direct impact on our community.

Dr. Jenkins lives on Johns Island, in his native State of South Carolina, with his wife Chiffon.
